Naper Launch

NaperLaunch, is at business startup center at the Nichols Library. The lineup of programs, events, and workshops at NaperLaunch is set and we’re excited about it. Converge - North Central College

In the fall of 2016, a group of former entrepreneurs decided to create a place where ideas can flourish and entrepreneurs thrive. This group understood that creativity, innovation and new business ideas happen anywhere.

To succeed in venture creation, you have to take risk, embrace failure and you need the right culture to support it.

At ConVerge, they are lucky to have the support of an extraordinary academic institution, students and alumni, a vibrant downtown Naperville location, the I-88 corporate hub and North Central College’s relationship with industry.

They work every day to create an environment to assist using tools and practices that focus on business implementation strategies. Rather than follow traditional practices, they have created innovative processes, policies and procedures to actively help develop and grow promising new businesses.

ConVerge goes a step further to foster a hub of innovators and services in the western suburbs who are working together to create change and grow businesses that impact people’s lives.

The ConVerge process supports community entrepreneurs and students of all ages, especially mid-career professionals, woman and minorities who are reflective of our diverse community. Community Career Center

The Community Career Center provides a supportive and professional setting where job seekers can conduct an effective and successful job search. In addition, a professional staff of trained volunteers is available for individual consultation to assist job seekers in setting reasonable goals and implementing strategies that meet their specific needs. Perhaps the most unique feature about the Center is the one-on-one appointments. Which include: resume writing, networking, interviewing skills, job search strategy, career counseling, and basic computer skills. This provides the ability to customize the Center’s resources to the individual job seeker’s needs. Programs and services are available without geographic restrictions. Workforce Center of Will County

The Workforce Center of Will County (WCWC) is an integrated workforce system that brings services provided by several workforce partners under one roof. The center provides an array of services and connects customers to work-related training and education. Job seekers are provided with high-quality career services, education and training, and supportive services to obtain an in-demand occupation and stay employed. Services are also available to help businesses find skilled workers and obtain additional supportive services, including education and training for their current workforce. workNet DuPage Career Center

DuPage County Workforce Development Division (WDD) is funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and provides an extensive range of services to both job seekers and employers. Job seeker services include scholarships for job training programs, job search workshops, career counseling, a job search resource center, and more. Employer services include workforce training grants, a resume database, free job posting, assistance for workers being laid off, and more.For more information visit www.worknetdupage.org

WOMEN'S BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE


For seventeen years, Itasca Bank & Trust Co.’s Women’s Initiativesm has presented an array of programs and services to advance the success of women. The programs are interesting and informative, addressing topics that make a difference in women’s lives. From personal interest to business and financial focus, the many roles of women have been celebrated and enhanced. The Women’s Initiative also offers the opportunity to connect with other dynamic women. There is no fee to join the Women’s Initiative, nor for the programs.

The Realities of a Job Interview


This workshop will provide insights from an HR point of view. Plan to gain a better understanding of a behind the scenes look at the job interview process. All phases of “before, during and after” will be covered. Session will conclude with one-on-one meetings with attendees to address your individual interviewing situations and answer any questions. Industry Orientation (H)


Career Scholarships are available to Will County residents who meet eligibility guidelines and are interested in training for occupations that are in demand in Will County. The first step to apply for a Career Scholarship is to register at www.jobs4people.org to attend an Industry Orientation. Three different sessions are available based on the industry/occupation you are interested in pursuing. Sessions are identified as: (H)=Healthcare, (M/TDL)=ManufacturingTransportation/Distribution/Logistics, (P/F/IT)=Professional/ Financial/Information Technology. Choose the Industry Orientation that fits your desired career choice. (registration can also be taken over the phone by calling 815.727.4444)
